Yolanda Saavedra

Miss. Yolanda Gonzalez Saavedra, 18, of Chapel Hill, N.C., died Monday, June 8, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (940 Carmichael Street) Chapel Hill, N.C.  Entombment will follow at the church columbarium and the family will receive friends afterwards at the church and at other times at their home.

Yolanda was born in 1997 in San Luiz de la paz  Gto Mexico, daughter of Rodolfo G. Matehuala and Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez. She attended Northwood High School in Pittsboro and was scheduled to graduate with the Class of 2015. Yolanda was known for her love of life, family and friends and her beautiful smile. Her passion was dance and she enjoyed all styles and forms.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister Vanessa G. Saavedra, her brother Angel Nicholas Saavedra and her Grandmother Carmen Rodriguez Cabrera all of the home and a host of family and friends.
