Mr. Wilton Gilmer Seawell, 90, of Robbins passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Firsthealth Hospice in Pinehurst. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020,at High Falls U.M.C. Cemetery with Rev. Tom Hallberg presiding. The family requests those attending to where a mask and observe social distancing.
Wilton was born in 1930 in Moore County, N.C., son of the late Gilmer Flower Seawell and Elva Phillips Seawell.He worked as a supervisor for Collins & Aikman Textiles until his retirement after 45 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, golf and the outdoors in general. He cherished his family and friends by whom he will be sorely missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy John Seawell and his granddaughter Hannah Seawell.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty Jean Seawell of the home; sons, Jerry Wade Seawell and Stanley Wilton Seawell both of High Falls; brother Herman Seawell of Carthage and sister Betty S. Davis and husband G.W. of Charlotte, N.C; three grandchildren, Jerry Patterson(Sebrena), Tonia Bolt(Mark) and Gina Baker(Clark) four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Cole, Gage, Layla and a host of family and friends.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in Wilton’s memory to the High Falls U.M.C. General Fund 324 Frieson Road High Falls, N.C. 27259.
