Wilma Stone

Ms. Wilma Gardner Stone, 99, formerly of Bennett, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Rex Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Apex. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Gardner and Fleta Scott Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Stone; Sisters-Berta Mae Linnens and Mildred Routh. She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church.

Ms. Stone liked to garden, & can and freeze her vegetables from the garden. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and most of all loved her family and neighbors. She also worked at a hosiery mill in Robbins.

Funeral Services will be held on 4pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Bennett Baptist Church in Bennett with Rev. Tim Strider officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service in the church’s Narthex.

She is survived by her Son-Larry Stone & wife Betty Lou of Cary; Brother-Cecil Gardner & wife Hazel of Ramseur; Sister- Alice Williamson of Pittsboro; Grandchildren- Angelia Smith & husband Jack of Apex, and Annette Taylor & husband Greg of Apex; Great-Grandchildren- Nicole & Carmen Smith, and Cameron & Nicholas Taylor.
