Biography

Staley: Mr. William "Cone" Hilliard Jr. 78, of Staley passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Siler City Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2 pm at Horseshoe Presbyterian Church where he was a member with Rev. Tom Currie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hilliard was a Chatham County native and had been a truck driver for 47 yrs. He loved working on old cars, loved all kinds of tractors, and being busy working on anything. But his greatest joy in life was his family of who he loved very much. He had a statement that he lived by to the very end and it was a way of life "It don't take much for me!". He will be missed!
Mr. Hilliard is survived by his wife that had he lived until Sunday they would have been married 58 yrs.- Shirley Burke Hilliard of the home. Daughters- Amanda McMasters & husband Terry of Staley, "Sam" Prevatte & husband Ron of Siler City, & Rachelle Tucker & husband Bobby of Staley. Grandchildren- Amber, Ashley, Jessica, & Madison. Great-Grandchildren- Kinley & Ethan. Brothers- Johnny Hilliard & wife Delena of Siler City, & Odell Hilliard of Bear Creek.
