Mr. Webster John Hill age 86, of River Road in Robbins, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be conduced 2pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Fair Promise United Methodist Church in Goldston with Rev. Tony Baurichter officiating. The family will recieve friends after the service in the church fellowshiphall and other times at the home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was the son of the late Jack Guthrie Hill and Blanche Scott Hill. He was a retired school teacher with 30 years of service with Chatham County Schools in Bonlee. He loved to turkey and quail hunt. He coached basketball and baseball, and loved playing the sport himself. He was known as having a fast pitching arm in school. Mr. Hill was an avid Carolina Basketball fan, and loved Bluegrass gospel music. He was also a graduate of Elon College University.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Cheek Hill; Daughter- Carmen Hussey & husband Yates of Robbins; Grandson-Zachary Hussey of Robbins and his friend Lauren Roach of Julian; Brothers-Bobby Hill & wife Virginia of HighFalls, and Sammy Hill & wife Billie Joyce of Southern Pines; Sisters-Helen Stutts of Topsail Beach, Nora Monroe of Sandy, Utah, and Bessie Jordan of Asheboro.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that Memorials be made to Fair Promise UMC c/o Tony Baurichter 567 River Road, Robbins, NC 27325 or FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
