Ruth Oldham

Ruth Maxine McNeill Oldham, 86, of Bennett passed away  on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Chatham Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Bennett Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Tim Strider and John Phillips presiding. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. The viewing room at Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 for friends to sign the register.

Ruth was born in Chatham County on August 4, 1935 to Frank McNeill and Jessie Hancock McNeill. She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church and had worked at the John Plant Company for 38 years. She enjoyed talking with her friends, sitting on the front porch and watching sports. Ruth loved spending time with her family and her neighbors and their daughter, Sophie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey Oldham, one brother and 4 sisters.

Ruth is survived by her son, Danny Keith Oldham, of the home; grandson, Dalton Keith Oldham, of Bennett and a host of family and friends.
