Ruby Branson

Ruby Lucille Brown Branson, 85, formerly of Bennett, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Universal Health Care in Ramseur. The visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 1:30 -  2:45 in the sanctuary at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where she was a member. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with David Welch presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery and the family will then return to the fellowship hall.

Ruby was born on April 24, 1934 to Albert Stacey Brown and Ethel Mae Cox Brown.  She retired from Guilford Mills with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, reading and golf. She treasured spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Manford Branson; daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Roy Applewhite; son, Michael Branson, sisters, Catherine B. Binkley & Velma Welch; brothers, Glenn, Bill, & Larry Brown; and great-grandson, Hunter Saunders.

She is survived by: daughters, Deborah B. Saunders, of Bennett & Pamela B. Brown (Jimmy) of Raleigh; sisters, Irene B. McNeill, Brenda B. Albright (Billy), and Linda B. Brown; brothers, Ronnie Brown (Patsy) & Junior Brown (Brenda); grandchildren, Darren Saunders (Rebecca), Brian Saunders (Tonya), Patrick Brown, Wendy Darnell (Tim), Amanda Watson (Doug), Casey Applewhite, Stacey Anders (Kenny), 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
