Robert Cecil “Bob” Scott, of Bennett, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Chatham Hospital in Siler City with his family by his side. There will be a graveside service held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Chaney presiding. In case of inclement weather the service will be held inside. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday March 15, 2025, for friends to sign the register. 

Bob was born in Chatham County on July 5, 1934, to Lonnie and Nellie Scott. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a self-employed painter. He loved his Farmall tractor, hunting and fishing. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Gale Scott, Grandson, Cory Gale Scott and 13 brothers and sisters.

Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shelby Phillips Scott, Sons, Jeff Scott (Kathy) of Bennett, Jason Scott (Dr. Katherine) of Bennett. Sister, Dixie Scott Holt of Siler City, Grandchildren, Kellie Soddy (Dustin), Sarah Scott, Anna Pruitt (Tyler), Mary Scott, Samantha Scott, Wendy Dixon (Wes), Blake Dixon (Maggie). Great grandchildren, Stephen, Brynlee, Wyatt, Hudson, and Skylar and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Fall Creek Cemetery fund.
