Rebecca Ann Dixon Routh, 86, of Bennett, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brush Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Fuller and Rev. Tim Strider presiding. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm for friends to sign the register.
Becky was born in Chatham County on April 17, 1936 to Colon and Ollie Dixon. She was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church. She worked in data processing at Acme McCrary for over 35 years. She and her husband, Buddy, owned and operated Routh’s Grocery and Bennett Hardware for many years.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Ervin (Buddy) Routh, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Fitts, of Siler City; brother, John Thomas “Tom” Dixon and wife, Lynn, of Aberdeen; special friend Dee Dee Goins and husband, Lennie, of Asheboro; nieces, Sara Fitts and Sheila Fitts; nephews, Doug Dixon and wife, Jill and Greg Dixon and wife, Starr; great-nephew, Jude Dixon; step-niece, Janel Gordon and husband, Eric; step-nephews, Terry Cleary and wife, Stacy and Sean Cleary; step-great-nieces, Hannah Soileau and husband, Ben and Melanie Gordon; step-great-nephew, Connor Gordon and a host of family and friends.
