Peter McNeill, Sr.

Mr. Peter Paul McNeill, Sr., 80, of Bennett, died Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Siler City Center. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Fall Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor George Townsend presiding. The family will receive friends immediately after in the Fellowship Hall.

Peter was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1939, son of the late Thomas McNeill and Beulah Wallace McNeill. He worked as a fixer in textile for 60 years, retiring from Ramtex. He enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables as time permitted as well as fixing things in need of repair. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and enjoyed time with family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva M. McNeill of the home; children, Nancy Jacqueline Poole and husband Tommy of Bennett, Mary Murlene Martin of Siler City, Paul McNeill, Jr. of Bennett and Janet Marie Scott and husband Mark also of Bennett; Three sisters, Nettie Reynolds and Maxine Ritter both of Robbins and Lorraine Hussey and husband Allen of Ramseur; Four grandchildren, Tony Smith(Kelly), Tina Alford(Brad), Tisha Martin and Matthew Nettles; three great-grandchildren Raelyn Smith, Braxton Smith, Reese Alford and a host of family and friends.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Community Home Care and Hospice 1836 Doctor’s Drive Sanford, N.C. 27330.
