James Olin Wright, 87, of Ramseur, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Genesis Center in Siler City. The funeral, with Military honors, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, in Bennett, with Pastor Don Edwards presiding. The body will lie in state at Joyce-Brady Chapel on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm for those wishing to sign the register and pay their respects.
Olin was born in Chatham County, on November 11, 1932 to Harvey Lee Wright and Bonnie Davis Wright. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church. He served in the US Army and retired from B.B. Walker Shoe Co. after 40 years of service. After retirement, Olin worked at Routh’s Grocery. He was a hard worker who enjoyed deer hunting, bird hunting, farming and raising cows. His family was very important to him.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Myrldeen Baxter Wright, of the home; son, James Dean Wright, of Ramseur; sisters, Helen Wright Brady (Jack), of Bennett and Lucy Wright Emerson (Louis), of Goldston; granddaughter, Cherodie Lynn Wright, of Ramseur; great-grandchildren, Jesse James Wright, Rachel Faye Brewer, Jasper Daniel Wright, Chevy Timothy Brewer and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church cemetery fund, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Rd., Bennett, NC 27208.
