Nora Parker Craven, 82 , of Seagrove, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, surrounded by her family at FirstHealth Moore Regional. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Joyce-Brady Chapel. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Chaney and Pastor Garry Reeder presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service.
Nora was born in Darlington County, SC on January 18, 1941 to Glenn and Betty Hutchinson Parker. She attended Union Grove Baptist Church and retired as a teacher assistant with Randolph County Schools after 25 years of service. Nora was a UNC fan and enjoyed all sporting events, family games and traveling. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid supporter of all their activities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Weldon Craven (October 2022) and two brothers, Bill Parker and Frank Parker.
She is survived by her children, Gloria C. Williams of the home, Janet C. King (Gary), of Seagrove and Weldon Craven II (Lisa), of Asheboro; sisters, Glenda Chambers, of Aberdeen and Sheila Deeb, of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Lane Sapp (Chris), of Seagrove, Natalie Poe (Brian), of Seagrove, Dustin King (Leah), of Seagrove and Lindsay Helminen, of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Logan Richardson, David Sapp, Reece Poe, Kynleigh Poe, Luke Kivett, Kendall Kivett and Maddie Helminen and a host of family and friends.
