Mrs. Nettie Ann Crisson Brown, 82, of Siler City, died Thursday evening at the Siler City Center. The funeral will be held Monday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m at Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Bennett, with Rev. Don Edwards presiding. Prior to the funeral service, the family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:45p.m. at the church where mourners may also say their goodbyes to Nettie. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery. Nettie's family would also like to invite attendees for refreshments in the church fellowship hall after the burial.
Daughter of the late Henry Preston Crisson and Grace Graham Marlette, Nettie was born in Alamance County. Nettie used her education at Guilford College and Campbell University to receive her teaching certification. She taught elementary education at Bennett School for many years and also worked with children at Henry Siler School in Siler City. A devoted homemaker, Nettie had many interests including cooking, reading, travelling, and her church. She reserved a special place in her heart for her love of children, especially her granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William “Ernest” Brown of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Grace Marlette and Robert Willett, of Raleigh; granddaughters, Candace Rose Willett and Ava Grace Willett of Raleigh, and a host of family and friends.
