Nathan Joe Phillips, age 20, of Bear Creek passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
Nathan was born in Lee County, NC on August 3, 2001, the son of Kim Johnson of Pittsboro and Danny Phillips of Bear Creek. Nathan previously attended Chatham Central High School in Bear Creek and at the time of death worked for Dennis Phillips Poultry. He loved deep sea fishing at the Outer Banks, hunting and four-wheeling. He had a huge heart, loving soul, and was willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his parents; his step-father, William McGehee of Pittsboro; his sister, Brittany (husband Caleb Winn) of Ohio; his maternal great-grandmother Willie Jourdan of Bear Creek; his paternal grandparents, Judy and Dennis Phillips of Bear Creek; his maternal grandmother, Wanita (Nick) Frank of Timberlake; his step-sisters Shelby McGehee of Pittsboro and Nickie (Timothy) Fox of Bennett; his step-brother Lee (Mariah) McGehee of Bear Creek; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special lifetime best friends Cozy Wilkie of Bear Creek and Nayeli Gonzalez of Bear Creek.
Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Charles Johnson; his paternal great-grandparents Billy Joe and Edna Phillips; his maternal great-grandparent, Albert Jourdan; and his step-brother, Dillon McGehee.
A private memorial service will be held for Nathan at a later date.
