Montie Mae Maness Russell, 91, of Robbins, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill UMC, where she was a member, with Rev. Darrell Williams presiding. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 and other times at the family home.
Montie Mae was born on October 6, 1928 to Ralph Maness and Glenna Caviness Maness. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, watching game shows and working in her yard tending to her flowers. Montie Mae loved dogs, especially her grand-dogs. She treasured spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Montie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Russell and her brother, Bill Maness.
She is survived by: daughter, Sandra Stephenson, of Stella; sons: Jimmy Russell (Linda) of Robbins, Jerry Russell (Dianne) of Robbins, Larry Russell (Karen) of Pittsboro; brother, Johnny Maness (Clara Lee) of Asheboro; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 due in March, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill UMC, 1535 North Moore Rd., Robbins, NC 27325 or First Health Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst NC 28374.
