Mrs. Alice Louise Seagroves Clayton, 78, of Goldston, N.C. died Tuesday April 3, 2018 at the Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (6630 Good Hope Church Road) in Cary with Chaplain Sam Garris presiding. No visitation will be held.
Louise was born in Wake County, N.C. in 1939, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Seagroves. She retired from U.N.C. Chapel Hill as a key punch supervisor after years of dedicated service. Louise loved to cook for her family and was known and loved for her Big Christmas Breakfast each year. She enjoyed cooking shows and The Young & The Restless but preferred to be outside with her animals or in the yard playing with her grandchildren whom she cherished. Sewing and needlework were among other things Louise enjoyed as well as trips to the beach and fishing for flounder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Weltmer and one brother, Robert Seagroves. She is survived by her son, Michael Clayton and wife Beth of Goldston; one sister, Annie Brantley and one brother, Ray Seagroves both of Cary; two grandchildren Austin L. Clayton and wife to be Jena and Dustin M. Clayton as well as a host of family and friends.
