Mr. Kinney Lee Hussey, 57, of Bennett, N.C., died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, at Fall Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Scott Allmon presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyce – Brady Chapel in Bennett.
Kinney was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1959, son of Kinney Harrison Hussey and Maggie Alice Purvis. He married the love of his life, Barbara Greene, in 1980, and in 36 years together, they raised three children. Kinney loved the outdoors, gardening and raising cattle. He owned and operated Hussey’s Yard Service and worked part-time as a custodian for High Falls Elementary School. He taught Sunday School at Fall Creek Baptist and was recently ordained as a Deacon of the church. He loved his family and friends, and especially loved being “Paw-Paw” to his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Barbara G. Hussey, he is survived by daughters, Jenna H. Moody and husband Dwayne of Bear Creek, N.C. and Katie H. Davis and husband Chris of Bennett, N.C. and one son, Ethan Hussey and wife Jessica of Beaufort, S.C., his father and step-mother, Kinney Harrison Hussey and wife Shelby Jean of Bennett, N.C. and his mother and step-father, Maggie Mashburn and husband David of High Falls, N.C. and three grandchildren, Ty Moody, Jackson Hussey and Paisley Davis and a host of family and friends.
