Kenney Harrison Hussey, 87, of Bennett, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at his home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Highfalls Wesleyan Church with Rev. Roger Riffe presiding. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. for friends to sign the register.
Kenney was born in Moore County on June 11, 1934 to Duffie and Minnie Brady Hussey. He was a member of Highfalls Wesleyan Church and worked for Perdue as a mechanic for trucks and loaders. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kinney Lee Hussey; brothers, Landis, Burlin and Otis Hussey and sisters, Omie Lou Upchurch and Ometa Brooks.
Kenney is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shelby Jean Frye Hussey, of the home; step-children, Karen Garner, of Charleston, SC, Burma Cardwell (Bob), of Carthage, Lisa Akers (Tim), of Elon and Eddie Garner (Lynn), of Highfalls; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hussey, of Bennett, grandchildren, Jenna, Katie, Ethan, Michael, Mandy, Amber, Tabitha, Abagail, Ashley, Will and Joshua; ten great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
