Mrs. Kathleen Maness Cox, 90, of Bennett, N.C., died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her home. The family will recieve friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Joyce- Brady Chapel in Bennett. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Strider and Rev. Terry Warren officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Pleasant Hill U.M.C. church cemetery in Robbins.
Kathleen was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1926, daughter of the late C. Belvin Maness and Dora Ritter Maness. She worked for Walker Shoe Company and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. During her life, Kathleen enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning vegetables. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and all of the great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe A. Hussey, three sons, Joe A. Hussey, Jr., David A. Hussey and Michael "Bink" Hussey, Two daughters, Virginia Hussey Barker and Martha A. Hussey and Three grandchildren and one step-son, Wayne Cox.
She is survived by her husband Cleo Cox of the home, one son Cecil Hussey and wife Teeny of Bennett, N.C. and one daughter, JoAnn Hussey Maness and husband Eugene of Asheboro, N.C., One step-son, Eddie Cox and wife Debbie of Arden, N.C., Fourteen grandchildren, One step-grandchild, Eighteen great-grandchildren, Five great-great grandchildren and One great-great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Bennett Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 91 Bennett, N.C. or to the Pleasant Hill U.M.C. Cemetery Fund 1535 North Moore Road Robbins, N.C. 27325 . A special thanks to Johnny and Rodney for the great care given daily in any need Kathleen had.
