Asheboro: June Walter Cox 90, formerly of 6275 Erect Rd., Seagrove, NC passed away Saturday August 27,2011 at Carillon Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 11 am at the Shiloh Baptist Church where he attended with Rev. Mark Beane, Rev. Bruce McLanahan, & Rev. Howard McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery with Masonic Rights and Military Honors provided by the Randolph Co. Honor Guard.
Mr. Cox was a Randolph Co. native and a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Cox had worked at Bossong Hosiery and was a mechanic for Coble Dairy and also worked for Brady Lumber Co. Mr. Cox was a member of the Marietta Lodge #444 in Ramseur and enjoyed many hobbies such as a Ham radio operator, restoring player pianos, and also collecting musical instruments. He loved restoring antique vehicles and also enjoyed showing them .Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents- Robert L. & Mae Cox. Sister- Brenda Cox Davis
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 56 years- Clara Mae McNeill Cox of Asheboro. Sisters- Treva Cox Chrisco & husband J.D. "Bo" of Stanfield, Helen Beane & husband Walter of Asheboro, Penny Garner & husband Lloyd of Seagrove. Nieces-Sandy Hatley & Amy Loggains. Nephews- Rev. Mark Beane & John Christie
