Julian Burgess Teague, 80, of Bennett passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro. Due to the current COVID-19 mandate, no formal visitation will be held. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Fall Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Edwin Moore and Rev. George Townsend presiding. Friends may bring their own lawn chair for the service. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be inside the church. Friends who would like to sign the register may do so on Monday, May 25, 2020 or Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel.
Julian was born in Chatham County on April 27, 1940 to Stella Ellen Jones and Guy Burgess Teague. He owned and operated Teague Cabinet Shop for 62 years. He enjoyed spending time at the lake house at High Rock Lake, working with the Royal Ambassadors at his church, volunteering at Camp Caswell and hanging out with his friends in the Crossroads community. He loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Julian was preceded in death by his grandsons, Jonathan and Nathan Teague. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Craven Teague, of the home; daughter, Cynthia Johnson (Samuel) of Cary; son, Maurice Julian Teague (Christina) of Bennett; sister, Aletha Teague Lanier (Richard) of Marston, grandchildren; Madalyn, Michelle, and Zacharias, and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
