Mr. John Wayne Phillips, 54, of Oscar Road in Robbins, died Saturday, May 9, 2015.
The funeral service will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Smyrna United Methodist Church, at 203 Smyrna Church Road in Robbins with Rev. Tal Madison and Rev. Edwin Moore officiating.
The visitation will be held prior to the funeral, from 12:30 – 1:45pm in the sanctuary, and other times at his home on Oscar Road in Robbins. Burial will follow the service in Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
John was born in Tucker County West Virginia, son of the late Wilson Camdan Phillips and Vallie Viola Crossland. John was proud of his home state of West Virginia where he enjoyed membership in the Tree Growers Association, being a grower of Christmas Trees. He was known as a hard worker and a fine carpenter. John loved all of his family and cherished his granddaughter, Catlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- Barton, Coy and Dennis Wolford and sister- Doris Wolford.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Luck Phillips of the home, two sons, Jason Phillips of Seagrove, N.C. and Glenn Davidson and wife Crystal of Farmer, N.C. , one sister, Roberta O’Quinn of Elkins, W.Va., and two brothers, Eddie Wolford and wife Carol of Parsons, W.Va. and David Wolford of Elkins, W.Va. .One granddaughter- Catlin Davidson, and his best friend Jerry Gillispie and wife Peggy of Seagrove.
