John Wayne Conner, 74, of Ramseur, passed away April 21, 2019 at the Randolph Hospice House. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Springs United Methodist Church with Joey Miller presiding. Visitation will be on, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel and other times at the home of his son, Wes Conner, 743 Morgan Ave., Asheboro, NC.
John was born in Guilford County, on October 28, 1944 to Gladys Spencer Conner and John B. Conner. He was a previously employed as a painter in a body shop. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, and carpentry. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, General Douglas Conner.
Survivors include: daughters, Susan Conner Casey (Henry), of Ramseur, Cindy Conner Ferguson (Jeff), of Seagrove; sons, James Wesley Conner (Heidi), of Asheboro, Jeffrey Wayne Conner, of Winston-Salem; sister, Sue Freeman, of Asheboro; brothers, David J. Conner (Joyce) of Asheboro, Thomas Tyson Conner, of Morganton, James William Conner, of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Patricia Conner, of Ramseur; adopted daughter, Amy Carter (Brian), of Randleman; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and very special granddaughter, Riley Ferguson.
