Bennett: Mr. Jimmy Ray Cox 67, of 6576 Jimmy Cox Rd., Bennett, NC passed away Monday, March 03, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11 am at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Williams & Rev. Tim Strider officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was a Randolph County native and was the son of the late Ray & Lessie Cox. Jimmy started working in the textile industry and then began his lifelong passion of farming. He raised poultry, both chickens and later turkeys, but he loved his cattle and goats especially his Santa Gertrudis cattle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Cox.
Mr. Cox is survived by his Wife- Savonne S. Cox of the home. Sons- “Punk” Cox & wife Heather of Bennett and “Pooch” Cox. Step-Daughter- Nicole Sebik & husband Joe of New Hill. Step-Son- James Garrett Stephens & wife Jennie of New Hill. Grandchildren- Luke, Trent, Lane, & E.J., Brother- Jerry “Levi” Cox & wife Pam of Bennett. Sister- Shirley Stout & husband Tony of Ramseur.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 6-8pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at his home and the home of his son “Punk”. You may offer online condolences at www.joycebradychapel.com Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County.
