Mr. Jerry Clyde Crabtree, age 67, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, after a brief illness of cancer, at the home of his brother, Jesse Crabtree, in Westmoore Community near Robbins,. He was a Moore County native, and was the son of the Clyde Crabtree and Annie Ruth Martindale Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree worked in Textiles as a Machine operator. He attended High Falls Wesleyan Church in Bennett, loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Wayne Crabtree.
Mr. Crabtree is survived by his Son-Jerry Lee Crabtree of Seagrove; Daughters-Joni Mabe & husband Wayne of Seagrove, Jill Whitley & husband Jeremy of Snow Camp; Grandchildren- Tristan, Taylor, and Tripp Mabe of Seagrove; Brothers- Jesse Crabtree of Robbins, Herman Crabtree & wife Frances of High Falls; Sisters- Helen Maness of Siler City, Louise Preslar & husband Larry of Biscoe, Edna Brown of High Falls, Linda Coward & husband Arthur of Seagrove. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6-8pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 2pm at High Falls Wesleyan Church in Bennett. Burial will be held at a later date. The family will also receive friends at the home of Jesse Crabtree, on Emily Lane in the Westmoore Community near Robbins.
