Janie Davis Welch

Janie Davis Welch, 87, of Robbins, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be at the church on at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 with Dr. John Williamson presiding.

Janie was born in Montgomery County on December 11, 1935 to Claude and Nonnie Spivey Davis. She was a member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church and loved going to church. Janie loved to cook and was a expert biscuit maker. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing and was previously employed at Ithaca. She adored her family and the time she spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Welch; son, Jackie Welch, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Janice Wood (Chuck), of Robbins, James Ray Welch (Donna), of Franklinville, Judy Martin (Phillip), of Star, Linda Bean (James), of Robbins, Tonya Britt (Michael), of Robbins; daughter-in-law, Julie Welch, of Coleridge; sister, Betty Lucas, of Biscoe and Claudine Greene, of Biscoe; brother Junior Davis (Betty), of Asheboro, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one great-greatgrandchild on the way and a host of family and friends.
