Janice Ruth Hussey Cox, 81, of Bennett, NC, passed away on January 21, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Bennett Baptist Church, with Rev. Adam Beddingfield presiding. Attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm for those who would like to sign the register. The family is not receiving visitors at home.
Janice was born in Moore County on January 10, 1940 to Eldridge and Edith Sanders Hussey. She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church. She was the first female fixer at Ramseur Interlock, where she worked as a knitter/fixer for 30 years. She made sure that her children were educated and knew the value of hard work. She enjoyed crafts and quilting. Family was very important to her and she loved spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by husbands, Pete Thomas Beane and Robert F. Cox; sister, Kitty Ann and grandson, Casey H. Jones.
She is survived by daughters, Jennie Beane Caviness (James), of Bennett, Phyllis Beane Simmons (Danny), of Coleridge, Beatrice Cox Kennedy (Ricky), of Bennett and Lisa Cox Jones (Walter H., Jr.); son, Toby Franklin Cox, of Bennett; sisters, Bernice Reeder, of Troy, Estelle Leach (Bud), of Gold Hill, Judy Routh, of Asheboro, and Dorothy Sibbett (James), of Randleman; brothers, Harold Hussey (Dora), of Robbins, Johnny Hussey (Brenda), of Eagle Springs, Danny Hussey, of Indiana and Tim Hussey, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Gregory Alan Caviness (Lacey), Shannon Caviness, Tina Dixon (Matthew), Stephanie Renee Caviness, Keith Simmons, John Chase Jones (Morgan), Ethan Kennedy (Michaela), Cory Jones and Seth Kennedy, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 due in April and a host of family and friends.
