Jackie Elliott Sutherland, age 74 of Carthage, NC died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Bennett Baptist Church in Bennett with Rev. John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-2:45 prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Born on December 13, 1941 in Chatham County, NC to the late Herbert Sutherland and Faye Tillman Shields. He was a member of Bennett Baptist Church. Jackie retired from Cox Trucking. He loved to fish and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Cathy D. Sutherland of Carthage, NC; a daughter, Kathy Trogdon and husband Jason of Randleman, NC; 2 stepsons: Chris Barber of the home and Eric Chrisco of Aberdeen, NC and 8 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sutherland; a stepson, Kevin Barber and 2 sisters Betty Smith and Pat Taylor.
