Biography
Bear Creek: Mr. Homer Phillips 84, of 13974 Hwy 902, Bear Creek, NC passed away Monday December 31, 2012 at Siler City Center in Siler City. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2 pm at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
Mr. Phillips was a Chatham Co. native and was a retired truck driver. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Phillips is survived by Daughters- Elaine Wilhelm of Statesville, Tammy Stewart of Bear Creek, Dawn Kelly of Italy. Sisters- Betty Carter, & Doris DiMeo both of Siler City and Peggy Brooks of Bear Creek. Brothers- William "Shug" Phillips & Lawrence James Phillips both of Bear Creek, and Harlan "Pig" Phillips of Lexington. 6 Grandchildren.Visitation will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at his home.
