Helen Wilson

Helen Edwards Wilson, 84, of Bear Creek, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. A private graveside service will be held at Prosperity Friends Church, where she was a member, at 2:00 p.m. on August 12, 2020 with Pastor Val Chadwick and Rev. Robert Kidd presiding. The funeral home will be open on Tuesday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm for those wishing to sign the register and pay their respects.

Helen was born in Moore County, on September 3, 1935 to Samuel J. and Hazel Mae Wallace Edwards. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. She loved to cook and enjoyed feeding family and friends. Helen loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jimmie Ray Wilson; son, Mike Wilson; grandson, Steven Lee Vaughn; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne W. Vaughn (Joe) and Rebekah Wilson; daughter-in-law, Jackie P. Wilson, all of Bear Creek; grandchildren, Kevin Vaughn, Eric Wilson, Jacob Phillips, Alex Wilson and Cadie Phillips and great-grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Kaileyann Phillips and Rowan Wilson; brother, Robert Lee Edwards (Diane), of Moore County; sisters-in-law, Lisa Scott (Randy) and Cindy Dixon (Keith), all of Bear Creek and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in Helen’s memory to Liberty Hospice, 1005 Carthage St., Suite C, Sanford, NC 27331.
