Mrs. Helen Forrest Humbertson, 82, of Carthage, N.C., died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Autumn Care of Biscoe after a lengthy period of declining health. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Putnam Friends Church Cemetery 136 Putnam Church Road Carthage, N.C., with Dr. Bill Cooper presiding. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Helen was born in Guilford County, N.C. in 1934, daughter of the late Clyde Ernest Forrest and Josephine Andrew Forrest. After completing high school, she attended cosmetology school in Fishersville, Va. and worked for a while in Frederick, Md. . Upon returning to this area, she was a line worker in the textile industry. She enjoyed canning and quilting and in her later years, was a passionate Bingo player. Her time with family and friends was cherished most of all. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son; Roderick Dewayne Humbertson of Biscoe, N.C.; three brothers, Douglas E. Forrest and wife Becky of Carthage, N.C.; Ted A. Forrest and wife Helen of Robbins, N.C. and Roger W. Forrest of Carthage, N.C.; one grandson and one great-grandson and a host of family and friends.
