Mrs. Geneva Mae Moore, 79, of Robbins, N.C., died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst, N.C. The family will receive friends Sunday evening (1/10/2016) from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C. . The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (1/11/2016) at Smyrna United Methodist Church with Rev. David Woodhouse and Rev. Junior F. “Bucky” Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Geneva was born in Guilford County, N.C. in 1936, daughter of the late Walter Rufus Garner and Beulah Maness. She enjoyed life fully and was loved by all who knew her. Geneva raised exotic birds and loved quilting, working puzzles and taking care of her home. She read her Bible at the start of each day as she was passionate in her faith and love of God. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Lindon Moore of the home, two daughters, Connie Moore and Debbie Moore of Robbins, N.C. and three sons, David Moore, Jonathan Moore and Joseph Moore all of Robbins, N.C. , one sister, Hazel Hussey of Robbins, N.C. and one brother Jerry Garner and wife Doris also of Robbins, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice 150 Applecross Rd. Pinehurst, N.C. 28374.
