Gary Maness

Gary Lewis Maness, 59, of Bennett, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Randolph Hospice House. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 , 2022 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with John Wayne Phillips and Pastor Don Edwards presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. for friends to sign the register.

Gary was born in Moore County on October 3, 1962 to Bobby and Rama Simmons Maness. He worked at Georgia-Pacific before going into auto body repair. He loved to race and won the division championship in 2002 driving car #11 at Caraway Speedway. Gary enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse.

Gary is survived by his parents, Bobby and Rama Maness, of Bennett; one brother, Tim Maness and his wife, Beth, of Asheboro, one daughter; two grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
