Mrs. Frankie” Lucille” Gattis, 67, of Robbins, N.C. , went home Thursday, November 1, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst, N.C. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins with Tim Scott presiding. No visitation will be held.
Lucille was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1950, daughter of the late Thomas Madison Smith and Betty Jane Saunders Smith. She attended Sandhills Community College where she obtained her credentials as a Registered Nurse. She worked in the nursing profession until her retirement from Penick Village. Throughout her life she was known as a caregiver, not only to the elderly, but those in need, weather it was people or animals, her love and care knew no boundaries. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and sharing her love of GOD with any and all. Lucille was well respected in the medical field for her knowledge and high standards of caring for the sick and infirmed. She loved her family beyond measure and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and her husband Jerry Wayne Gattis.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Allen Gattis of Robbins, N.C.; Celia Gattis Scott and husband Timothy of Sanford, N.C. and Alfed Ray Gattis and wife Wanda of Cameron, N.C.; two brothers; Thomas Wayne Smith and wife Patty of Robbins, N.C. and Garrett Leland Brown and wife Pepe of Seagrove, N.C.; Six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her “Fur Baby” Chong and a host of family and friends.
