Faye Phillips Fitts

Helen “Faye” Phillips Fitts, 92, of Siler City, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at her home. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. John Hackney presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 p.m. and after the service in the fellowship hall.

Faye was born in Chatham County on April 5, 1931 to Barney and Ellen Hilliard Phillips. She worked as a seamstress at Sweaters USA. After retiring, Faye managed WesCare Senior Adult Daycare. She was a member of the Joy in the Morning Sunday School class and served faithfully in the church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Fitts, Jr.; brother, Archie Phillips and wife, Betty and brother-in-law, Oren Elkins.

Faye is survived by her children, William (Billy) Fitts, III and wife, Amy, of Siler City, Johnny Fitts (Amy Jo Hussey), of Siler City, Patti Faye Hargis and husband, Alan, of Dunn; sister, Mattie Lee Elkins, of Goldston; grandchildren, Cassie Price (T.J), Mary Grace Coley (Lee), Luke Hargis, Lance Hargis and Harrison Hargis; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Coley and Analeigh Faye Coley and a host of family and friends.
