Mrs. Eva Mae Williams, 85, of Robbins, N.C. died Saturday, 9/20/2014 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, N.C.
The visitation will be held Monday evening 9/22/2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday,9/23/2014 at 2 p.m., at Beulah Baptist Church with Dr. Neal Jackson and Dr. Bill Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Eva was born February 14, 1929 in Moore County, to the late George H. and Martha Brady Purvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband L.H. Williams and two brothers, Harold and Gilbert Purvis and her son-in-law Jimmy Oxendine. During her life Eva worked at Ithaca Hosiery Mill as well as serving as a substitute teacher. She was known for her love of music and brought joy to many playing the piano. Eva had many passions in her life, most notably, catering events, weddings etc.., where people were served her "World Renowned Lemonade".
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Elaine Brown Hussey and husband Donnie and Linda Oxendine, all of Robbins, N.C. .
Four grandchildren, Jennifer H. Cockman and husband Eric of Seagrove, N.C., Ryan D. Oxendine and wife Sarah of Raleigh, N.C., Susan H. Phillips and husband Alan of Johnson City, Tn. and Rynet Oxendine of Robbins, N.C. . Seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Jillian, Hayes, Addie, Cate, Campbell and Grayson.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Eva's memory to the Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 8454 Howard's Mill Road Bennett, N.C. 27208.
