Ernest Davis, Jr

Mr. Ernest Russell Davis, Jr, age 87, of Seagrove, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

The funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Riverside Baptist Church in Seagrove, with Rev. Kenneth Bouldin officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was the son of the late Ernest R. Davis, Sr. and Lillie Hayes Davis.  He was preceded in death by his Sister-Nina Davis Pritchard, Brother- Jim Reuben Davis; & Nephew- Kenneth Rudolph Pritchard; He was retired from Burlington Mills in Asheboro as a loom fixer.  Mr. Davis was US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had earned two Bronze Battle Stars. He was an avid bird hunter, loved to garden, Bluegrass Music, eat at Mayflower Restaurant in Asheboro, but most of all loved his family and friends.

Mr. Davis is survived by Nephews: Jimmy C. Pritchard & wife Rita of Piedmont, SC; William Ernest Pritchard of Robbins; Randy L. Pritchard & wife Becky of Rocky Mount; Jim Reuben Davis, Jr. of Carthage; Niece- Lily Margaret Davis of Carthage. Special thanks to Cousin Ed Davis, and friend Roger Davis for their care and support over the years.
