Mrs. Emma Jean Hicks, 84, of Siler City, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. The family will recieve friends Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:45 p.m. at Joyce - Brady Chapel in Bennett. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Josh Conrad presiding. Burial will immediately follow at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Emma Jean was born in Chatham County in 1933, daughter of the late Prentice Hicks and Wincie Ann Cheek Hicks. She was a homemaker working the family farm and and raising her family that was so dear to her. She loved to cook for family and friends. Emma enjoyed her membership at Brush Creek where she regularly attended until her health kept her from doing so. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Hicks; brothers Talmadge and Archie Hicks and one grandson, David Clyde Hicks.
She is survived by her son, Danny Hicks and wife Wanda of Siler City; brother Noah Junior Hicks and wife Ada Mae of Colorado; granddaughter, Rachel Morris and husband Kevin of the home and Great-grandson Dawton Moore of Bonlee and a host of family and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 5345 Airport Road Bear Creek, N.C. 27207.
