Dimitrios Papaioannou

Dimitrio Papaioannou, 92, of Robbins, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, in Burlington, with Father Sean Govostes presiding. The committal service will follow at 2:30 pm at Brown’s Chapel Christian Church, in Robbins.

Mr. Papaiaonnou was born in Loravostamon Ikaria, Greece on January 28, 1929 to Ioannis Papaioannou and Despina Stratoudakis. He was a retired Merchant Seaman and served in the Greek Army. He loved the ocean.

He is survived by two children, Ioannis D. Papaioannou (Rose Marie) of Staten Island, NY and Despina P. Arvanitis (George) of Athens, Greece; sister, Anastasia Papaioannou, of Athens, Greece and special caregiver, Betty Dennis, of Robbins, NC.
