Curtis Farrell Brewer, 97, of Robbins, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. A graveside service will be held at the Brewer Cemetery, 644 Jesse Phillips Rd., Robbins, at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 with Rev. Thomas Holbrook presiding. The funeral home will be open on Thursday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm for those wishing to sign the register and pay their respects.
Curtis was born in Chatham County, on July 28, 1923 to Dewey Francis Brewer and Annie Frank Ritter Brewer. He was a member of High Falls UMC and was an entrepreneur. Curtis owned and operated Brewer’s Concrete Plant & Finishing. He raised cows and chickens and was the largest hog farmer in NC at one time. He was also known for the beautiful swings that he built. He enjoyed hunting dove, deer and quail. He especially adored his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bronna Agnes Garner Brewer, who died exactly 17 years ago; son, Farrell Brewer; sisters, Mittie Lee Phillips, Ruth Kidd, and Peggy Phillips; brothers, Bob Brewer and Francis Brewer; grandson, Dougie Brewer and great-great-granddaughter, Demi Smith.
He is survived by his son, Tony C. Brewer (Vicki S.), of Robbins; daughter-in law, Cynthia P. Brewer, of Robbins; sister, Betty Jean Seawell, of High Falls; grandchildren, Clifton Brewer (Tiffany), Eric Brewer (Morgan), and Dana Jeffries (Jimmy); 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
