Clyde Saunders

Clyde Thomas Saunders, 86, of Robbins, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Robbins Bible Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Melchin presiding. Burial will immediately follow at the Saunders Family Cemetery, 233 Milestone Lane, Robbins. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel.

Clyde was born on July 10, 1932 to Orlando Thomas Saunders and Minnie Ethel Latham. He owned and operated Saunders Sawmill. He enjoyed farming and coon hunting. He loved raising his family and his horses.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by sons: James Thomas Saunders and Timothy Bruce Saunders, daughter-in-law, Deborah Blaylock Saunders, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by wife of 63 years, Clara Jean Saunders, of the home, sons: Randy Saunders (Jill), Steven Saunders, all of High Falls, Billy Saunders, of Robbins, daughters: Sandra Hall, of High Falls, and Becky Medlin (Monty), of Robbins, daughter-in-law, Joan Saunders of High Falls, sisters: Canarie Kennedy, Iris Owens, both of Robbins, brothers: Bobby Saunders (Joann) of Randleman, Lonnie Saunders (Shirley) of Asheboro, Gary Saunders (Melinda) of Seagrove, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-great grandchildren.
