Mrs. Clara Jean Kennedy, 82, of High Falls, N.C., died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at her home. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C. . The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at High Falls Friends Church, with Rev. Ben Hurley and Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow the service at the High Falls United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Clara was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1933, daughter of the late William Alton Myrick and Blanche Albright Myrick. She worked for many years as a Hosiery Inspector for Ithaca Mills. She enjoyed reading and attending church, where she taught Sunday School. Spending time with her family and friends was something she loved to do as much as possible. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. Kennedy in 1992 and her brother Lester A. Myrick in 2015.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila K. Martindale and husband Larry Russell Martindale of Robbins, N.C. and one son, Charles Richard Kennedy of Asheboro, N.C., one sister, Ruby Butler of Bennett, N.C., three grandchildren, Christy M. Parsons and husband Seth, Bethany M. Nichols and husband Tommy and Kacie M. Kennedy.
Seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Isaac, Kynedie, Ben, Jonah, Thomas, Kathryn and a host of family and friends.
