Charles Lee “Charlie” Goforth, 77, passed away on September 19, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, in Bennett, with Rev. Ken McDowell presiding. Burial will follow in the Maness-Goforth Cemetery, 374 Auffie Rd., Robbins, NC. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:45.
Charlie was born in Guilford County on September 30, 1941 to Hobert Lee Goforth and Jessie Mae Lawson Goforth. He was a truck driver, musician and an avid horseman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Curtis Goforth.
He is survived by: daughter, Lynn Goforth (Ronnie Jarvis), of Summerfield, NC; step-son, Christopher Allan Salmons (Crystal), of Seagrove, NC; Tami Mendoza Clark, of Lexington; companion and caregiver, Betty Owens, of Robbins; sisters: Sue Sandlin (Tony) of McLeansville, NC and Sharon Watkins, of Guilford Co., NC. In addition to many friends, there is a countless number of “children” whose lives were touched and made.
