Beatrice Hill

July 23, 1931 — January 7, 2016

Mrs. Beatrice Shields Hill, 84, of Bennett, N.C., died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her home.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (1/10/2016) at High Falls Friends Church with Pastor Chris Wilson and Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Beatrice was born in Chatham County in 1931, daughter of the late William Robert Shields and Nancy Agnes Martindale. She worked until her retirement at Ramtex, retiring as a lab technician. She enjoyed Wednesday night Bible Study at High Falls Friends, serving refreshments at various church functions and insuring the church was always kept neat and clean. She was an avid reader and loved watching and feeding birds. Beatrice loved people and was known for her Saturday morning trips to WalMart and visiting friends at the Chicken Hut. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, her husband William Joseph Hill in 1988 and her son William Tony Hill in 2013.

She is survived by her sister Lucy Wallace of Bennett, N.C., Daughter-In-Law, Vickie M. Hill of Robbins, N.C., two granddaughters, Tammy Barnes and Millicent King (Phillip),  great-grandsons, Tristan and Caleb Rouse, Zachary Barnes and Parker King, great-granddaughter Kenzie Barnes,  one great-great grandson Graylan Jase and a host of family and friends.
