Alfred Virgil Moore Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Siler City Center in Siler City, NC.
Alfred was born July 5, 1935 to the late Alfred Virgil Moore Sr. and Ossie Clyde Sanders in Moore County and was a resident of Bear Creek, NC. He was a veteran of the Army and later worked in Textiles as a machine fixer for many years. He was a member of Edwards Hill Friends Meeting Church and a licensed Reverend. Alfred enjoyed reading the Bible, hunting, fishing, working on cars and loved his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Alfred was preceded in death by brothers Roger Moore of Robbins and Gilbert Moore of Carthage, sisters Betty Greene of Eagle Springs and Darlene Maness of High Falls.
Survivors include wife, Mary “Lillian” Scott Moore of Bear Creek. Sons, Alfred Lewis Moore and wife Margaret of Siler City, and Randy Lee Moore and wife Holly of Sanford. Sister, Mildred Tomkins of Asheboro. Brothers, Rev. Leonard Ross Moore and wife Judy of Robbins and Wayne Moore of Cameron.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 prior to the 2:00 funeral service, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Edwards Hill Friends Meeting Church in Bonlee, NC. with Josh Conrad presiding, burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Bonlee, NC. At other times friends may visit the family at the home of Lewis and Margaret Moore.
