Mr. Albert “Vernon” Chriscoe, 79, of Robbins, N.C. died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyce – Brady Chapel in Bennett. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Trinity Wesleyan Church cemetery in Seagrove with Rev. Josh LeRoy presiding.
Vernon was born in Randolph County, N.C. in 1938, son of the late Clifford Chriscoe and Sylvia Kearns Chriscoe. He worked construction specializing in drywall installation until his retirement. Before his health declined Vernon was a fixture in the Robbins Farmer’s Day parade and would be seen walking on the stilts he used at work. He was a man of deep faith in God and loved sharing the gospel with all people that he could. Vernon loved his family and friends and so enjoyed relaxing on the front porch of his home, carving out “bean shooters” to give away to friends and family. He will be so missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Larry and Denny Chricoe and his daughter Tammy C. Hancock.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sarah "Laverne" Chriscoe of the home; daughter, Debra C. Molina of Robbins; brothers, Harold, Roy, Wayne and Maxton Chriscoe all of Seagrove; sisters, Ernestine Chriscoe of West Jefferson, Elsie Johnson of Seagrove, Ruth Cox of Asheboro and four grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
